RESIDENTS KILLED, HOUSES BURNT IN FRESH KADUNA RELIGIOUS RIOTS

Culled from: frankofili.net

Some residents were reportedly killed and many houses burnt in fresh religious violence that broke out in Kasuwan Magani community in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State yesterday.
The police have deployed armed personnel in the troubled commercial town which is about 36 kilometres away from Kaduna metropolis.
According to an eyewitness account, about 20 persons were injured in the fracas between Christian and Moslem youths. Property worth millions of naira, including vehicles, were burnt by the irate youths.
The eyewitness said the crisis erupted following a misunderstanding between some Christian and Muslim youths over an alleged conversion of two Christian girls into Islam.
But some residents of the area, including Ahmadu Dogo and Jummai, told journalists that attempts by Christian and Moslem youths to stop their girls from dating their male counterparts from religions different from theirs was the major cause of the violence. They said some people were killed during the fracas.
The Sole Administrator of the local government, Aminu Rabiu, said the “disagreement among the Christian and Moslem youths led to the loss of lives, property and peace in the area.”
He said the quick response of the security agencies helped in restoring order.
“We have already evacuated the injured persons to the hospital and they are responding to treatment.”
Rabiu appealed to the residents to embrace the culture of living in peace.
The Spokesman of the Kaduna State Police Command, Mr. Murkhtar Aliyu, confirmed the incident and said security agents had been drafted to restore peace.
“There are casualties, but I cannot ascertain the number at the moment. But I can assure you, peace has been restored to the area,” he said.
Governor Mallam Nasir El-Rufai has ordered arrest and prosecution of the culprits.
In a statement, El-Rufai’s spokesman, Samuel Aruwan, said the governor directed the prosecution of the masterminds shortly after receiving a preliminary report on the mayhem.
Aruwan said the government had sympathised with the victims and their families and directed the State Emergency Management Agency to take an inventory of damage and provide relief materials immediately.
Meanwhile, clerics under the Northern Christians Association of Nigeria (CAN) have condemned the religious violence.
In their reaction to the inci dent, the northern CAN’s Public Relations Officer, Reverend John Hayap said religious leaders must intensify the teaching of right doctrines to their followers.
He said it was sad for youths and followers of two prominent religions in northern Nigeria “in this age of education and technology to be fighting and killing each other because of religion or boyfriend and girlfriend matter.
“If they don’t have good knowledge of their faith, then their exposure to this modern era should help them stop this shameful act.”
According to CAN, leaders of these youths from both faiths should see this as a sign of failure to teach good morals and the importance of the sanctity of life.
“How can a well-informed religious person fight another because he or she befriends someone from another faith? This is not only shameful but a display of a high level of ignorance.
“Both Christian and Muslim clerics from our religions must step up their teachings to eradicate this shameful act,” he said.

THE NAMIBIAN TRIBE WHERE "SEX" IS OFFERED TO GUESTS.

The people of Ovahimba and Ovazimba tribes in the Kunene and Omusati regions in Northern Namibia have an upheld culture that has defied western influence and agitation.
With a population of over a 50,000, the women engage in the daily activity of milking their cows, taking care of the children and other extensive duties while the men go hunting leaving, sometimes, for an extended period of time. These nomads’ wealth is determined by the number of cattle one has. A polygamous people, the Himba girls are married off to male partners selected by their fathers once they attain puberty.
You cannot ignore the red skin they have. The red colour seen on their skin is called, the otjize paste ( a combination of butterfat, omuzumba scrub and ochre) and its function is to protect their skin from the sun and insect bites. They are also guided by the belief that the colour red signifies “Earth and blood”. Rather than take their baths, the women take a smoke bath and apply aromatic resins on their skin.
-Honour Is Relative-
Give honour to whom it is due: This saying is applied differently in this tribe. When a visitor comes knocking, a man shows his approval and pleasure of seeing his guest by giving him the Okujepisa Omukazendu treatment. This practice literally means that his wife is given his guest to spend the night while the husband sleeps in another room. In a case where there is no available room, her husband will sleep outside.

This handed down tradition has its “benefits” in the community: it reduces jealousy and fosters relationships. The woman has little or no opinion in the decision making. Submission to her husband’s demands come first.  She has an option of refusing to sleep with him but has to sleep in the same room as the guest.
She is also entitled to give her friends to her husband when they visit but this rarely happens.

THE MYSTERIOUS SNAKE THAT SWALLOWED N36MILLION IN JAMB OFFICE. by SHABA Mafu.

Nigeria, my beloved country is gradually descending into a repository of mysterious happenings. Funny, yet dangerous enough is now the symbols of animals used in perpetrating and mocking the sophisticated societal evils which are usually and shamelessly expressed in the public space without a dither in their consciences. We still recalled vividly when the President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari travelled for medical attention, and his office at the Aso Rock graciously but satirically infested by the rodents, namely and jocularly called the presidential rats. Those rats were actually discovered or interpreted to be the cabals in the present administration who were more interested in the soup on the political table than the productive, corporate and effective governance of the Nigerian nation. They are like the parasitic tsetse fly that has perched on the scrotum of the president, who would need enough tact to exorcise them from that dangerous and vulnerable location. Perceivably, the rats are still parading the corridors of power and no effective and potent ‘poison’ has been discovered yet to flush them out from the present administration.
While still in the process of researching into the permanent solutions on the rats’ invasion of the Aso Rock, another bombshell was released within this week on the mysterious and herbivorous Snake that swallowed N36Billion in JAMB office. JAMB is an acronym of Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board. It is a Body set up by the federal government of Nigeria to conduct unified examinations to those seeking admissions into institutions of higher learning in the country.
In the episode under discussion, JAMB had sold tickets to students which accumulated to N36Million (Thirty Six Million Naira). When JAMB demanded the accounts of the sales of the tickets, an official of the Body, Mrs Philomina Chieshe, shocked the entire public by saying that a mysterious snake had swallowed the whooping sum of N36Million Naira from the Board’s office vault: the entire realized by JAMB from the sale of the tickets.  This popular scenario played out in Benue State where the vampire herdsman had been on the killing spree since the beginning of this year, 2018. The JAMB Head of Information, Mr.Fabian Benjamin said that the defaulting staff has been suspended and the investigations are ongoing on the matter. In the same vein, within forty-eight hours after this strange happening, another N26Million has been reported missing from the JAMB office. This is becoming more sadly interesting!. No one has been told whether it was a chimpanzee that ate this one this time around. Corruption, summarily put, is the bane of Nigeria’s socio-economic progress. And this evil has been so instituted the people now make mockery of the potent poison against this nation. It is a monster that has placed this nation in a precipice, and if not jointly tackled headlong, might catapult the country into an irredeemable destruction.
The N36Million saga cannot appeal to the sense of even to a kindergarten pupil, how a snake would ordinarily swallow the physically mammoth size sum of N36Million cash from the vault in an office. May be God had just created that Snake monster last week and put it very close to the vault and breathed the breath of life into it, only in the presence of the spiritually powerful Philomena or her housemaid. Or could it be that the vault located in a forest as a detachment from the JAMB office? If not that, then how did the snake crawl to the office with only Mrs. Philomena seeing it? Though in her feeble defence, she explained that it was actually her housemaid that connived with another woman named Joan Asen to ‘spiritually steal the money’.  But wait! Is the housemaid a staff of JAMB or appointed by Mrs. Philomena on self-recognition to guard the vault? How does she come to the conclusion that Asen connived with the housemaid to swallow the money through a snake?. If the money was actually swallowed by a literal snake, why did she not report the ‘HOUSEmaid’ to the authorities of JAMB? Where is the housemaid and Asen at present, so that they could also tell the snake to vomit back the money? Which way Nigeria, in all these tear-invoking corruption cases?
In a swift reaction, my comrade Senator representing Kaduna South senatorial constituency, Mr. Shehu Sani has mobilized snake-charmers to the JAMB office to ensure that the mystery snake vomits the N36Million. A good step I must say. I also expect that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to overhaul the entire financial structure and apparatus of the entire JAMB and to thoroughly dig deeper than what presently meets the eye of the public. There might still be more rottenness hiding somewhere and more confessions to make.
This woman definitely has collaborators who would have planned to steal this money, and jointly agreed to cook this kind of frivolous and purgative story when eventually caught. There should be diligent prosecution of these mad thieves. Before been drafted for prosecution, these alleged saboteurs should go through psychiatric test in the famous Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, located in Yaba-Lagos, to ascertain their mental balance.
Finally, I have come to discover that if this administration actually fights corruption as it ought to, many rich Nigerians will become instant paupers, because many so-called rich men in Nigeria actually feast on corruption and its attendant proceeds. This government is therefore called to bare its full fangs against corruption, being the mantra of President Muhammadu Buhari administration.

THE CONDITION OF THIS ROAD IN KWARA STATE WHERE NIGERIAN SENATE PRESIDENT HAILS FROM.

This is a bridge linking two communities – Tsaragi and Bacita - in Kwara State, the state where Senate President Bukola Saraki comes from.
Kwara State has a sitting governor; the Tsaragi and Bacita communities have a Senator, a House of Reps and House of Assembly members representing them. They also have a local government chairman, but apparently, they are all waiting for Buhari to come down from Abuja to fix this bridge.
